The 76ers stated in a press release that rookie shooting guard Ricky Council IV and guard David Duke Jr. had been waived.
Council, 22, is 6-foot-6 and went undrafted out of Arkansas last summer despite being projected to go early in the second round by several sites. Following the draft, he promptly signed a two-way contract with the Sixers.
He then played in five Summer League games for Philadelphia, averaging 9.4 points and 4.2 rebounds.
Duke, 24, is 6-5 and has played in 45 games for the Nets in the last two seasons, including 23 last year. He’ll most likely join the Delaware Blue Coats, the Sixers’ G League club.
Duke will be eligible for a bonus of up to $75,000 if he stays with the Blue Coats for at least 60 days.
The Sixers now have an available two-way berth and a total roster of 19 players.
