‘From what I’m told’: Journalist shares what he’s now heard about Pedro Neto and Arsenal

This season, Pedro Neto has been lighting up the Premier League.

The Portuguese winger has been a standout for Wolves this season, with outstanding displays down the right flank against some of the division’s finest teams.
As you might expect, Neto’s performances for Wolves have piqued the interest of some of the Premier League’s elite clubs, with Arsenal being one of the most recently linked.

The Gunners are rumored to be interested in Neto, but according to Inside Arsenal’s James Benge, this transfer will be difficult to complete due to Arsenal’s large summer spending spree.

Neto deal is difficult

Benge revealed his knowledge of Neto and Arsenal.

“Correct me if I’m wrong, but nothing has been said to me that anything is imminent.” According to what I’ve been informed about the financials, it would almost certainly require some serious discussions with the ownership, with Vinai, about how you can finance that move because Arsenal got into issues financing the signing of David Raya, so mid-season signing Pedro Neto, who is incredibly expensive,” Benge added.

Neto is expensive

All things considered, it’s difficult to see this transaction happening in January.

Neto will not be cheap given his amazing start to the season with Wolves, and Arsenal are stretching it financially after spending over £200 million in the summer.

Of course, as Benge points out, the owners may be able to find a way to get things done, but the January window is notoriously difficult, even when you’re not splurging out like Arsenal did in the summer.

Unfortunately, if Arsenal wants to complete this transaction, it may have to wait until next summer.

From an Arsenal perspective, Neto is still a player to keep an eye on.
