Key Leicester star could leave club amid interest from Serie A giants

Reports suggest that Inter Milan FC is considering a potential summer transfer for Kelechi Iheanacho, whose contract is set to expire at the end of this season, rendering him a free agent if he doesn’t sign a new deal. The Nerazzurri has been alerted to the possibility of securing Iheanacho on a free transfer and FC Inter News has stated their interest in the Nigerian international.

The article further states that the club intends to assess Iheanacho’s performance before making a final decision, as they have plans to target several free agents over the next year.

Despite his contractual situation, Iheanacho remained with Leicester through the summer, where he played alongside Jamie Vardy as the lone striker and has netted four goals in Championship games, with three of them coming in the last three matches.

Iheanacho joined Leicester from Manchester City in the summer of 2017 for £25 million, and there were rumors linking him with a move away from the club last summer. However, he remained focused on his current club, stating, “I know the rumors and reports, but I’m here and I’m concentrating on my football.

I’ve been with Leicester FC for a few years, and although we’ve faced challenges, we’re working hard to make a comeback. I didn’t leave, and now I’m here playing for Leicester City, so let’s focus on that.”

In other news, Iheanacho scored his first goal for the Super Eagles in a 2-2 draw with Saudi Arabia last Friday. It’s worth noting that he didn’t participate in Nigeria’s second friendly match against Mozambique on Monday, citing personal commitments as the reason for his absence.
