Newcastle United could lose key man to direct premier league rival

Manchester United may be interested in Newcastle United director Dan Ashworth if Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s takeover goes ahead as planned.

However, according to an iNews source, they can expect the Magpies to reject any offers for Ashworth.

After the club’s recent troubles, it makes sense for Ratcliffe to aim to replace the board, but Ashworth may be a bit of an unrealistic target.

Newcastle will be eager to keep such a highly-regarded person in the sphere of transfers and recruitment, however a move to a big club like United may be more appealing.

NUFC supporters will no doubt be hoping that the ambitious makeover at St James’ Park will also help them keep Ashworth around for a while longer.

It will be interesting to see what the new-look Red Devils will look like after Ratcliffe arrives and begins to implement the changes he desires.
