According to Sport Witness, Leicester City defender Victor Kristiansen is the subject of transfer talks between the Foxes and his loan club Bologna ahead of a potential permanent departure from England in the coming months.
The 20-year-old made a €14 million move to Leicester City in January, but after the club was relegated, Kristiansen was one of several players to leave, including Harvey Barnes and James Maddison.
Kristiansen made a loan move to Italian team Bologna near the close of the summer transfer season, with the option to make the move permanent for €15 million.
The Italian club, on the other hand, is allegedly eager to chat with the Foxes about perhaps lowering the €15 million fee in order for the club to secure the player on a permanent contract during the January transfer window.
Since his arrival on loan over the summer, Kristiansen has participated in five matches for the club, contributing with one assist, which occurred during his Serie A debut against Cagliari.
Leicester City has had a strong start in the Championship, leading the table after 11 matches. They are set to face Swansea City this weekend, hoping to secure their 11th win out of 12 matches and maintain their two-point lead over Ipswich Town at the top of the table.
Reports suggest that Bologna is eager to secure Kristiansen’s services on a permanent basis before Leicester City secures promotion back to the Premier League. This is because they fear that the Foxes will demand a price that Bologna cannot afford.
In the author’s perspective, if Leicester City does achieve promotion, they are likely to retain Kristiansen. This would leave Bologna without his services beyond the current season. However, in case of a change of heart or if the player expresses a desire to leave, it could potentially compel the Championship side to sell him before complications arise.
