Nottingham Forest man named worst transfer in premier league

Don Hutchison has named Divock Origi, a Liverpool hero and Nottingham Forest striker, as the ‘worst transfer’ this season.

After departing Liverpool in 2022, the 28-year-old returned to the Premier League stage this summer.

After a year on the bench at AC Milan, Divock Origi appears to have decided to take on the same role at Nottingham Forest.

As a result, Don Hutchison was quick to declare his transfer ‘pointless’ and the ‘worst’ so far, according to ESPN.

He has made four appearances for Steve Cooper’s team, all off the bench.

He only made ten starts in 36 games for Milan last season before being permitted to go.

Divock Origi ‘worst’ transfer

“I was loathed with the word ‘worst’, but the pointless transfer I could have gone for was Divock Origi,” said Hutchison.

“I am not being unkind. But he didn’t play at Milan. When I found out that Forest were going to buy him. I thought, well, he’s not going to play there, and he hasn’t.

“So, that was a bit of worst come pointless (transfer).”

Origi’s performances from the bench

In reality, it’s not a good label to have, and it’s not something you want to be associated with.

But, if you’re going to be labeled as a “bench player,” you better make the most of it, and Origi, as Liverpool supporters are all too aware, has done just that.

Origi has numerous unforgettable moments from the bench that the Anfield faithful will never forget, from his stoppage-time winner against Everton to his goal in the Champions League final.

But now that he is at the pinnacle of his abilities, he must force himself to start games on a more regular basis.
