Latest: AC Milan now linked with shock move for Real Madrid player

According to a report from the Spanish outlet Defensa Central, AC Milan has expressed interest in Arda Guler. The Serie A powerhouse is actively searching for an attacking midfielder following the departure of Brahim Diaz and is willing to spend €20 million to bring the Turkish international over from Real Madrid.

Arda Guler spent most of his early years playing in his home country, representing Genclerbirligi SK and Fenerbahce during his youth career. The 18-year-old, who emerged from Fenerbahce’s academy, was a regular in the club’s first team during the 2022/23 season. However, his time in Turkey came to an end last summer when Real Madrid acquired him for around €20 million.

Unfortunately, Guler has not had the opportunity to make a significant impact at Real Madrid due to a knee injury. Nevertheless, he is highly regarded, with numerous reports suggesting that Real Madrid sees a promising future for him.

Having had to wait to make his debut for Real Madrid, Guler could benefit from a temporary move away from the Santiago Bernabeu. Several clubs have expressed interest in him, with recent reports linking him to Real Betis and Sevilla. However, another club is looking to secure him in a permanent transfer.

The report suggests that AC Milan intends to secure Guler on a permanent basis in 2024 and is prepared to spend €20 million on the 18-year-old, who they signed last summer. Whether this transfer happens depends on Florentino Perez’s decision when approached by AC Milan.

Ideally, Real Madrid should not part ways with Guler without giving him a fair chance to establish himself in the first-team squad. Therefore, a loan move would be more favorable than a permanent transfer. AC Milan’s interest is understandable, especially since they lost Brahim Diaz and Charles De Ketelaere this past summer.

In conclusion, Arda Guler is a viable target for AC Milan as they aim to strengthen their attacking options with the 18-year-old Turkish international. However, it remains to be seen if Real Madrid will entertain any offers for a permanent transfer.
