According to BILD, VfB Stuttgart is unable to dismiss the possibility of Serhou Guirassy, a player targeted by Nottingham Forest, leaving the club during the January transfer window, as such a move would secure a more substantial financial gain for them. The same source continues to emphasize Nottingham Forest’s interest in the striker.
Guirassy has had an outstanding start to the season, scoring an impressive 13 goals in seven games, which has propelled him to the top of the Bundesliga’s goalscoring charts and placed Stuttgart in second position in the league with 18 points from seven matches. This remarkable improvement comes after he managed to score only 11 goals in 22 league games last season and has naturally led to increased speculation regarding his future.
Numerous European clubs are monitoring Guirassy’s performances closely, given that he has a €20 million release clause set to become active next summer. Nottingham Forest was linked with a move during the summer transfer window and has remained interested, with reports suggesting that they might make a formal offer in January or later.
BILD also reports that Stuttgart is concerned about Guirassy’s future and is reluctant to let him go if they can avoid it. They understand that if his current form continues, the €20 million release clause in the summer would be seen as a bargain by potential suitors. Therefore, the possibility of a January departure “cannot currently be ruled out” because it presents Stuttgart with an opportunity to earn “significantly more money” for the striker, as his release clause would not be in effect.
In simpler terms, if Nottingham Forest were to make a move in the winter window and offer more than €20 million, Stuttgart would be open to the idea, despite the fact that losing Guirassy would be a significant setback for them.
