Anthony Elanga discusses his transfer from Manchester United to Nottingham Forest.
Anthony Elanga called his move from Manchester United to Nottingham Forest “perfect.” In addition, the youthful winger claims there isn’t much of a difference between the two teams.
Elanga is now on international duty with Sweden, having made an impressive start to life at the City Ground after joining from Old Trafford in the summer. The 21-year-old has appeared in all eight Premier League games for Liverpool so far, scoring his first goal for the club in their memorable 1-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last month.
He has helped Forest climb to 13th place in the table, three places and three points behind United. In August, Steve Cooper’s side pushed Erik ten Hag’s men all the way to a 3-2 defeat at Old Trafford.
“It has been perfect,” Elanga stated of his move to Fotbollskanalen. I spoke with the leaders before coming here. I understand what the leaders want and how to play the game. “The project and everything else there is ideal for me.”
When asked about the contrast between playing for Forest and United, where he rose through the junior levels to become a first-team regular, he said, “Nottingham are still a great team historically.” They have two Champions League titles. So you might say I’ve moved from one large team to another.
“The difference isn’t that big. We have started well in the league, winning games, drawing some and losing some. But it’s a good team, a good city and good players. The season is long and hopefully we can have a good season.”
