In the upcoming Premier League match after the international break, Nottingham Forest will face a recently promoted team.
Luton Town has officially announced the signing of Andros Townsend, a former England international. He might make his debut against Nottingham Forest in this game.
Andros Townsend, a 32-year-old winger, had been without a club since leaving Everton at the end of the previous season. He has now signed a short-term contract with Luton Town, which extends until January, with the goal of assisting them in their quest for Premier League survival.
During the international break, Townsend will use the time to become acquainted with his new team and surroundings. Luton’s next match is scheduled at the City Ground, right after the international break, and there’s a possibility that Townsend may feature in that game. Luton was able to sign the winger outside of the transfer window due to his free agent status. Townsend has been training with Luton to maintain his fitness, and his performance has earned him a contract with the club.
“I believe it’s a great fit, and over the past couple of weeks, we’ve assessed each other and made it work,” Townsend said on Luton’s official website. “I think it needed to be the right fit, and I’ve identified where I can contribute to this team, and the manager has also seen how I can help, whether on the field, in the locker room, or during training, thanks to my enthusiasm and experience.”
In his career, Townsend hasn’t faced Nottingham Forest frequently. His most recent encounter with them was in the 2014/15 season when he provided an assist in Tottenham’s 3-1 victory in the Carabao Cup.
Additionally, Townsend has faced Forest during loan spells with Ipswich in 2010/2011 and Birmingham City in 2011/2012, but he ended up on the losing side in both of those games.
