Man Utd star wants to play alongside Bruno Guimaraes after ‘exceptional’ Newcastle performances

Casemiro, a Manchester United midfielder, has commended his Brazil teammate Bruno Guimaraes for his recent performances at Newcastle United.

Casemiro and Guimaraes are currently on international service with Brazil, with upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela and Uruguay.

Guimaraes and Newcastle have been back to their best in the last month after a difficult start to the season, with five wins and two draws in their previous seven games. The 25-year-old scored his first goal of the season in an 8-0 win over Sheffield United and was instrumental in the 4-1 Champions League victory over Paris Saint-Germain.

Guimaraes has also recently signed a new five-year contract extension with the club, keeping him at St James’ Park until June 2028.

And Man United’s Casemiro has taken notice of the Brazilian’s efforts, telling OGOL: “Recently, Bruno is a player who has been doing an exceptional job at Newcastle.”

“With each workout and game, I feel more at ease with him.” He is a fantastic player who has proven it in the world’s most tough competition.”

Casemiro went on to say that he hopes to play often in the Brazil midfield alongside Guimaraes.

“It’s not up to me to determine who I’m going to play with,” he said. “But of course, when you play longer with a player, you have a greater adaptation.”

Casemiro is one of Brazil’s most successful footballers, having won the Champions League five times with Real Madrid and 13 other major championships.

He was also a member of the Manchester United team that broke a six-year trophy drought by defeating Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final last season.
