Newcastle now relies on Lascelles.
Shay Given described him as ‘simply magnificent’ after his performance against PSG. He kept Mbappe quiet for 90 minutes and deserved all of the praise he received.
In reality, Forest are perhaps well-stocked at the back right now. Murillo appears to be a terrific signing, and bright youngster Andrew Omobamidele is reportedly set to join the club.
At 29, Lascelles is probably in his prime years right now. As a result, he would have been a decent signing for Forest to bolster the experience in their ranks.
