Newcastle United now leading PL clubs in race to seal potential deal for ‘fantastic’ 19-year-old

Newcastle United are said to be interested in acquiring Blackburn Rovers midfielder Adam Wharton.

Newcastle scout Steve Nickson reportedly witnessed the player in action last week, and the Magpies hope to recruit him shortly. According to the Sun, the 19-year-old is highly ranked in English football, and clubs like as Crystal Palace, Brighton, and Everton are all interested in signing him.

It remains to be seen whether Newcastle would follow up on their interest in the midfielder with an official proposal to sign him in January. The prospect to join a Premier League club may be appealing to the youngster, and he may be tempted.

Newcastle have a big project in the works, and Wharton might take the next step in his career by moving to St. James’ Park. Newcastle’s 19-year-old is unlikely to be a regular starter this season, but he might be a long-term value to the club.

If he continues to progress and impresses Eddie Howe in training, he may be given first-team opportunity in cup games. This season, Newcastle will compete in the UEFA Champions League, and they will require a deeper team to perform well in many competitions. Wharton might be an effective rotating option for Howe in the second half of the season.

Apparently, Newcastle are prepared to provide him with first-team assurances, and it remains to be seen whether they can get the transfer across the line.
