Brandon Williams, a Manchester United defender, scored his second goal for Ipswich Town over the weekend to continue his recent trend.
With Manchester United in need of full-backs due to an injury issue, one loanee is proving his worth.
Brandon Williams has now scored two goals in three games for Ipswich Town while playing at right-back.
His goal was his greatest as a professional footballer, as he raced from his own half before narrowly shooting into the bottom corner.
Brandon Williams praised
Brandon Williams’ goal put Ipswich ahead 2-1 against Preston, and his team went on to win the game 4-2.
Manager Kieran McKenna expressed his appreciation for the defender’s contribution on the club’s website.
He went on to say: “The second was an incredible goal and Brandon showed that drive and determination all game, which we needed today.”
Williams obtaining what he required
Williams is receiving what he needs at Ipswich, a consistent run of games after appearing only once previous season.
While he could have gotten it at United if he stayed, the defender may be better off now that he is out of the spotlight and can focus on his game without too much criticism.
Leif Davis is one of Ipswich’s top defenders, a regular at left-back, pushing Williams to play on the right, where he played for United’s academy.
He, too, is demonstrating that he is too excellent to be left out right now.
