Bulls Lonzo Ball makes bold career prediction after injury setback

Lonzo Ball of the Chicago Bulls remains committed to his basketball career, despite grappling with a persistent knee injury that has kept him out of action for nearly two years. During the Bulls’ media day on Tuesday, Ball reaffirmed his determination to return to the court.

“I fully intend to make a comeback,” Ball stated. “At 25 years old, I believe my rehabilitation process has been progressing positively. There haven’t been any setbacks. So, for me, it’s all about staying positive and continuing to put in the effort.”

Ball endured a meniscus tear in January 2022, necessitating surgery that forced him to miss the remainder of the 2021-22 season. Subsequently, he missed the entirety of the 2022-23 season due to two more knee surgeries. The Bulls have also suggested that he may not participate in the upcoming season.

“The rehabilitation has been quite extensive. It feels like every day is a repetition. However, I am making gradual improvements each week, and that’s what matters most,” Ball added.

Arriving in Chicago before the 2021-22 season, Ball had only managed to compete in 35 games wearing a Bulls jersey. Before his injury, the 25-year-old had displayed strong performance, averaging 13.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists. He had previously played for the Los Angeles Lakers and the New Orleans Pelicans.
