Southampton Star sends ‘heartfelt’ message to supporters after Stoke City victory

Taylor Harwood-Bellis has sent a message to Southampton fans.

Southampton resumed their winning streak on Tuesday evening, defeating Stoke City 1-0.

Stuart Armstrong’s goal just before halftime was enough to separate the two sides.
After 10 games, the Saints recorded their first clean sheet of the season, keeping Alex Neil’s side out for the full 90 minutes.

Russell Martin’s team moved up to eighth in the table as a consequence of the result, albeit they face another set of matchups this evening that might knock them back down.

Southampton has 16 points from 10 games, with only goal difference keeping them out of the top six.

The south coast club have earned consecutive wins to put behind them the poor run of form they suffered in September.

What has Taylor Harwood-Bellis said about Southampton’s win over Stoke City?

Taylor Harwood-Bellis has delivered a message to supporters following the 1-0 victory over the Potters.

The defender expressed his appreciation to the away fans who made the midweek trek up to Stoke to cheer on Martin’s team.

“Huge win away from home,” Harwood-Bellis posted on Instagram.

“Thank you to the traveling fans who kept us going.

“Onto Saturday let’s finish off a good week.”

This was Harwood-Bellis’ seventh league appearance for Southampton since joining from Manchester City in the summer.

The centre back spent last season on loan with eventual Championship winners Burnley, and he has been loaned out again this season.

He is expected to play an important role in Martin’s first-team ambitions, especially given that he has gained Premier League experience.

After an 11-year absence from the Premier League, the Saints will be aiming for an immediate return to the top tier this season.

Harwood-Bellis has done well for Southampton thus far, and the 21-year-old will be thrilled to have contributed to the team’s first clean sheet of the season.

Southampton has struggled defensively this season, conceding a whopping 12 goals in a four-game losing streak.

Recent victories over Leeds United and now Stoke City have improved the mood at St. Mary’s.

Martin will be hopeful that his team can make it three wins in a row before the international break in October.

The Saints’ next game is a home match against Rotherham United on October 7th.

What role will Taylor Harwood-Bellis play for Southampton this season?

Harwood-Bellis was a standout performer for Burnley last season, and his lack of a Premier League move surprised many.

But it’s Southampton’s loss, as the centre back might be crucial to the club’s promotion push.

A first clean sheet of the season is a nice way to highlight the team’s efforts in turning things around following a bad run of form in recent weeks.

Harwood-Bellis is expected to be one of Martin’s first names on the squad sheet this season.
